Luke-Acts is a two-part book written by Luke. The first volume (Luke) details the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus. The second volume (Acts) then unveils Jesus’ work through the Holy Spirit in the lives of His followers. Luke likely wrote his account around 70 AD. While Luke never met Jesus, he was a companion of the Apostle Paul.

Luke’s purpose in writing is clear – to build certainty in the good news of Jesus through an orderly eyewitness account of His birth, life, death and resurrection. He defined and defended the gospel, so that we can confidently declare it.

As we study Luke together, let’s keep an open mind and heart to the truth. Luke will present hard facts, so our job is to humbly evaluate the evidence. We will grow in confidence in God’s plan for the world.
