One time, as I vacuumed around the house, I discovered a burnt mark at the floor rug under the bean bag. I thought, “Why on earth is there a burnt mark here?” So, I asked around to see who knew what happened there. And lo and behold, my son confessed that he was doing some magic trick of burning a piece of tissue into money. But while he was burning the tissue, the tissue flew out of his hand, still burning, landed on the rug, and stuck there. He tried to vacuum and wash the rug, but the burnt mark was still there. He knew he would be in trouble. So, he did what a sinner would do. He covered the rug with the bean bag.

If you were me, what would you say to him in that situation? Bear in mind that I told him a few times already not to play with fire, let alone, inside the house.

Paul says in Galatians 6:1 that if anyone is caught in sin, we must restore him in a spirit of gentleness. I must admit, I missed out on the ‘spirit of gentleness’ part. So, this is a good reminder for me, and perhaps for you too. :)
